19th March - Euro demonstration in Brussels

There will be 3 different calls: young, European Trade Union Confederation (ETUC), Social Movement assembly.

Youth Demonstration began to be organised in April 2004.

ETUC decided to demonstrate on 19 March and has given the mandate to Belgium Trade Unions to organise the practical aspect of the demonstration for them.

Trade unions have already taken contact with authorities:

 Saturday is a busy day for tourists and commerce.
 The negotiations are still going on because they do not agree with police on the itinerary
 The organisation has to be wound-up with police by the end of next week

Agreements on:

One common itinerary assuring a visibility for each sensibility and still showing the convergence of the different mobilisation.

Belgium social Forum will launch it’s Brussels call. Anybody can use it as it prefer or make reference to it’s own call. There will be a logo proposed by Belgium Social Forum with a terse phrase.

Belgium Social Forum received the mandate to have preliminary discussion with ETUC in order to reach the goal. It will build a facilitating group to organise practical things. There will be a meeting in Brussels when Belgium facility group has received enough information from it’s contacts with authorities, ETUC will discuss in the meantime by email FSE list. For the next meeting an ETUC representative will be invited.
